The Trail

of the Simon Kenton Trail?
(Since Simon Kenton traveled north and possibly used the
old railroad area, it only makes sense to continue the
Simon Kenton Trail to the North.) If interested, contact

Trail Description:
This trail opened in 2001 and was finished in 2004 and
2005. The total trail runs 16.6 miles from downtown
Springfield, crosses the Buck Creek Trail in Clark
County and runs North to the Urbana YMCA in Champaign
County. The trail was built in Champaign county with the
help of the Simon Kenton Pathfinders.
Surface: The trail is new and is paved in asphalt
10' wide.

The Trail is 10 miles long. But with the
spurs, and an additional loop around Melvin
Miller Park, it stretches to 11 miles. Hope
